I’ve just come across a band from Manchester called The Words, through a site I review for called Cue Tracks.

This is the video to their song ‘FAG’.

The range of influences that come across in their music is impressive. Although what they’re doing is not groundbreaking, it’s still pretty damn good. This song in particular is crying out for radio play and appreciation. Spread the word.

I can’t get enough of this song! It pours a little bit of sunshine out of my speakers every time I play it and the tone of the song makes me think about the forthcoming summer, which is more than alright with me :)

More where that came from please, Francesqa?

PLEASE REBLOG!!

Our band have been short listed for a possible slot in the final of the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition, Glastonbury Festival’s annual talent competition! We have been hand picked to be on a shortlist of 10 bands from over 1600 original entries by a judging panel including Glastonbury¹s Emily Eavis, Q Magazine Editor, Paul Rees and Radio 1 DJ, Huw Stephens.

Winning the People¹s Choice vote would mean we’d get to play in the Emerging Talent Competition final at Pilton in March and possibly offered a place at the world greatest music festival, Glastonbury! To get there, we need our fans, friends and fellow music lovers to vote for us at the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Site.

Help us get to Glastonbury, vote for us online at http://www.tinyurl.com/votecadence before 10am, Monday March 8, 2010. Thanks, and make sure you get everybody you know to vote. Let’s make this huge!

I urge you to take a listen to them before voting, because I know you’ll still want to vote for Faded Cadence after having a good listen to this lovely bunch of people, Birmingham’s finest future exports, making gorgeously youthful and sincere music! Cheers :)

Featured Video: Futures - Boy Who Cried Wolf (Holiday - 2010)

In July 2009, well-liked Buckinghamshire quintet Tonight is Goodbye decided to call it a day after three years of the band’s existence. However all was not lost, shortly after the split 3/5’s of Tonight Is Goodbye bounced back and from out of the ashes of their former band came futures.

futures comprise of Ant West, George Lindsay and Casey Roarty, all formerly of Tonight is Goodbye, with new face Christian Ward completing the refreshed line-up.

future’s debut material shows that we didn’t have anything to worry about when Tonight is Goodbye announced their split. The lads’ new music is the sort of stuff that helps you keep faith in the UK music scene, the type of thing that expels a ray of sunshine from your ear phones on the dullest of wintery days and most of all leaves you wanting more when each quirky 3 and a half minute indie pop rock gem draws to an end.

With the FREE release of their already praised debut effort ‘Holiday’ set for March 1st on WeAreFutures.co.uk and a headline tour taking place towards the end of February, futures’ future is looking very good from here.
